Campaign: Join Paul Nicklen & Cristina Mittermeier to Swim with Whale Sharks
Hometown: Bellevue, WA
EXPERIENCE DATE: July 17-July 20, 2019
HERE’S HOW IT ALL WENT DOWN:
Stephanie was on Isla Mujeres in Mexico, where apparently everyone gets around by golf cart, and according to her…
“The experience was fantastic from start to finish. Swimming up close to the whale sharks, seeing the incredible patterns on their skin and looking into the eyes of those gentle giants will be something to remember forever. Cristina, Paul and all the people on Isla Mujeres were great fun to be around. It was also inspiring to learn more about the work SeaLegacy and other organizations are doing to overcome the challenges of preserving our ocean environments.”
I was extremely touched by the warmth and generosity of Cristina, Paul and all the people on Isla Mujeres who made this experience so incredibly special.

FUN FACTS ABOUT STEPHANIE
Meet Stephanie! She’s a UK native and moved to the beautiful Pacific NW in 2012: “I've mostly acclimatized but still have to ship in supplies of Marmite and teabags on a regular basis.” She credits her parents, The Lorax, Sir David Attenborough and some Sunday Times articles circa 1990 for sparking her love of nature. She also cooks a mean Sunday roast: “I might share my Yorkshire pudding recipe if you're lucky.” She’s a big fan of Cristina and Paul’s advocacy work, and she couldn’t wait to get in the water!
Founded by Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen in 2014, SeaLegacy is now one of the world’s leading ocean conservation organizations.
